Well kids, I’ve been a little out of pocket lately, and for that, I apologize. I’ve had work for the last two straight weekends and have not had the time to cook a decent meal in a WHILE, and I’m starting to claw at the walls. Hopefully, I’ll have some tastiness for you after this week’s Sunday Night Dinner.
But, in the meantime, there are some great food-related charity events coming up in town, and I thought that I should share the details. Now, if any of you read Running With Tweezers or Eat It Atlanta, you have probably already heard about this event. But, for the both of you that read my blog and don’t read theirs, here’s the haps.
1st Annual Atlanta Food Bloggers Bake Sale
Tami over at Running With Tweezers has organized a very cool event this upcoming weekend, and it pains me that I won’t be able to attend. Alas, I have an out of town wedding. And since I’m too broke to donate (If you are curious as to why, please read through my “Atlanta Dining” section, and I think you will figure it out), I thought I’d help out by spreading the word.
Benefitting Share Our Strength, a non-profit engaged in the fight against childhood hunger, this is actually part of a nationwide fundraiser, and Tami has taken the reins to get a chapter going here in ATL.
So, good Karma would be reason number one to swing by the Cabbagetown Market from 9AM-1PM this Saturday, April 17th.
Need another reason? How about seven more reasons?
Check out the list of just some of the folks kind enough to donate some of their tasty treats for the bake sale:
Kirk Parks from Rathbun’s
Besha Rodell from Creative Loafing
Katie and Nic from We Whisk Away
Wanda from The Teacher Cooks
Amy Small from Scratch Baked Goods
If you can make it, I highly recommend heading over to check out the bake sale this weekend. You’ll be helping a good cause, and almost equally as important, you’ll have the chance to eat some damn good sweet treats.
